Women's World Cup final was most tweeted game of the tournament

The match which received the most tweets of the World Cup held between 7th June and 7th July in nine different cities in France, was in the final followed by the semi-final between USA and England. 

The team involving the stars and stripes are involved in all of the top three most tweeted encounters as France v USA in the quarter-finals came in third. 

The moment of most activity is when they were being crowned champions in Lyon. USA tweeted more than any other country during the World Cup followed by Brazil, England, France and Spain. 

The USA player Megan Rapinoe, winner of the golden boot and golden ball, was the most mentioned player of the competition. Her team was also the most mentioned. 'Nike', 'Budweiser' and 'Visa' were the brands which got the most mentions around the world.
