The group stage of the European Championship is almost over. This Sunday the third and final matchday begins with the matches corresponding to group A. Germany, Spain and Portugal are the only teams to have made it through, with 'La Roja' and the 'Quinas' already in first place.
The stakes are high, especially since UEFA increased the number of teams to 24, which means that four of the six third-placed teams will advance to the Round of 16.
Now it's time to look at the scenarios that have to be in place for each country to advance to the next round of the European Championship in Germany.

- Qualify as first if they win or draw
- Qualify as runners-up if they lose

- Qualify as first if they win

- Qualify as third if it wins and is one of the best third-placed teams.

Spain
- Already qualified as first.
Italy
- Qualify as second if they win or draw.
- Qualify as third if it loses, Albania does not win and is one of the best third-placed teams.
Albania
- Qualify as runners-up if it wins and Croatia also wins by two goals or less than Albania.
- Qualify as third if they win and Italy scores.
- Qualify as third if they win and Croatia also qualify by three goals or more than Albania.
Croatia
- Qualify as runners-up if they win and Albania do not win
- Qualify as runner-up if it wins and Albania also wins, exceeding the overall goal average.
- Qualify as third if it wins and Albania also wins and Croatia does not overtake Albania on aggregate points difference.
