"We have to feel privileged to be playing for bronze"

Jennifer Hermoso acknowledged that the defeat to Brazil in the semi-finals of the Olympic Games was "very tough", but said that now they have recovered their morale to fight for the bronze medal.
The Spanish team, after the setback suffered with that defeat against the 'Selecao', faces the match against Germany in Lyon with renewed enthusiasm.
"The match against the Germans has always been one of the most important. They have always been among the best and playing for bronze will be like a final. We are lucky to be here and the aim is to win and take the bronze," said Jenni Hermoso at the press conference.
"It's true that we were very f*cked up and that it was a very hard night, quite a long night. Now you can imagine giving it your all. We are coming to the end of a competition and there are more than 300 athletes who may not be lucky enough to compete for bronze. We have to feel privileged to play for a bronze. It is one of the most beautiful things that can happen to us in our sporting lives," she stressed.
"The mentality is to keep winning and winning, that's why it hurts so much to lose. Now, the players know what's at stake and we're going for it with all our enthusiasm. If you win a silver medal it's because you've lost a match but a bronze medal is because you've won it. There is a difference between feelings and emotions. Our mentality and objective is that there is one match left to win a medal and the joy will be immense," she concluded.
