Portuguese coach Vitor Pereira will not renew his contract for next year. Corinthians announced it on Sunday after the match against Atletico Mineiro, who defeated the Sao Paulo club.
The decision was announced by Corinthians president Duilio Monteiro Alves at the Neo Quimica Arena: "Vitor Pereira and his coaching staff will not continue working at Corinthians for the 2023 season."
The Portuguese coach, who arrived at the club in February, had a contract that expires in December but Pereira will leave because he needs to return to his country to deal with personal issues.
The manager won 27 times, drew 20 and they were defeated 17 times in 64 games. Corinthians, who finished in fourth place with 65 points, will play the Copa Libertadores group stage on Sunday.
