Vinicius furious after challenge by Maffeo goes unpunished

The first half in Mallorca was quite even and Vinicius was struggling to create anything against a well ordered Mallorca side.

In one instance, Vinicius tried to win a 50:50 ball and Pablo Maffeo made a sliding tackle on the Brazilian. It could have easily been a yellow card, but the referee did not even give a card.

The Brazilian winger got angry after an ugly tackle with his studs showing which could have injured him. Vinicius got angry with Mallorca's Angel Rodriguez, they went head to head and the pair saw yellow. 

"He goes in on Vinicius with his studs showing, it should've been a red card for Maffeo," ex-referee Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez told 'Carrusel Deportivo'. Vinicius and Angel both got booked, but Maffeo avoided punishment.

A few minutes later, Maffeo hit Courtois' left hand post with a shot and then blocked an effort by Vinicius which could have been a goal. An exciting first half which had its controversial moments.
