VIDEO: Veltman, Gross and Welbeck down West Ham

Brighton hosted West Ham at the AMEX on Sunday. It was the final Premier League fixture of the 2021/22 season for both teams. Going into the match, West Ham had Europa League qualification still to play for. 

The home side provided their fans with one last win of the season as the scoreline read 3-1 to the Seagulls after the final whistle. It was The Hammers who scored the first goal of the game. Michael Antonio put his side a goal up just before half time. In the second half, Brighton turned up the heat. Joel Veltman netted five minutes after the break and ten minutes before time, Pascal Gross completed the turn around. Danny Welbeck added a third in additional time. West Ham needed to win the game and hope that Manchester United lost theirs to Crystal Palace in order to leapfrog them into sixth and qualify for the Europa League. However, it was not meant to be for The Hammers.
