Herrmann completed his brace just before the hour mark, before Sommer was finally beaten in the closing minutes of the match by Bittencourt, the match ending 3-1.

While Gladbach's chances of European football are now over, Bremen are fighting for survival after dropping into the relegation zone last weekend.
