Very bad news for Tottenham. Rodrigo Bentancur will miss the remainder of the season, and several more months, with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The Uruguayan player was injured in the match against Leicester, in which Spurs lost 4-1, and tests have confirmed the worst of the news.
"We can confirm that Rodrigo Bentancur has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will be out of action for the remainder of the campaign. He will undergo surgery before beginning his rehabilitation with our medical staff. We're all behind you, Rodrigo," said the club in a statement.
Now, Antonio Conte will have to use a player in Bentancur's position, important in the 26 games he had played in the season until his injury.
