4th January 2015: Torres returns to Atletico
There was no reason to approach Calderón that morning, it's like a son leaves home and returns at age seven and his family is there to say 'hello'. That's how I felt and it was the most special moment I've lived as a footballer. And it was neither a match nor a goal. " It looked like a game day at the Calderón, cars on the sidewalks, floods of people, endless queues ... The image of Fernando Torres crying, looking at the sky of Milan, recently defeated, was one of the snapshots of that meeting, of that frustrated opportunity, again cruelly."It was a sad, hard moment, to see my broken companions. A sincere sadness, together with the support of the people, the applause and the feeling of pride for each other. It was a hard moment that will be difficult to forget." ,

As if that were not enough, he scored 1-1, at the pass of Ángel Correa, in the 42nd minute, to level the crash, to make the stadium 'explode' again, as he did later with 2-1 at the time the game, a pass from Diego Costa, insufficient for victory - then Eibar equalised. Fernando Torres cried in the emotional subsequent farewell, not one of the 68,000 spectators moved from their seats even if the game was over. It was the goodbye of one of their own.
