The six keepers vying for England's No.1 spot

With just 100 days to go until football's biggest stars will be taking centre stage in Russia, attention has shifted to who will be making the cut for the various national teams.
Nowhere is this more the case than in England and their head coach, who must decide between six promising shot stoppers - all vying for the prominent role come June 14.
We take a look at those in contention for a place between the sticks:
Joe Hart (West Ham)
Given that the 30-year-old has started nine out of England's ten World Cup qualifying games, many believe Hart is a shoe-in for the No. 1 spot. However, he has failed to break into West Ham's starting XI after moving there on loan from Manchester City and with many of his competitors playing regularly, it could be an uphill battle for Hart to make it to Russia as the permanent choice. Although he will likely make the selection as a back-up.
Jack Butland (Stoke)
The 24-year-old has been used as a back-up before, but could stake a big claim for the No. 1 spot if he can avoid injuries between now and June. There's no doubting his talent, but it will all depend on his luck and the form in the next few months and maybe whether Stoke get relegated from the Premier League.
Jordan Pickford (Everton)
England's most promising goalkeeping talent has shown the Premier League what he is capable of this season. However, he could be just a tad young an inexperienced to be thrown in at the deep end. Although, if Southgate is looking to the long-term then Pickford would arguably be the best option and will likely make the selection.
Fraser Forster (Southampton)
Despite being involved in the England set-up for a number of years, Forster has only made a handful of appearances and his position could suffer if Southampton get relegated this season, with the 'Saints' currently in 18th - would be an outside choice for the three goalkeeping positions.
Tom Heaton (Burnley)
The 'Clarets' shotstopper was only called up recently for international duty, at the age of 29, and would be an unlikely bet. He's missed a huge chunk of the season with a shoulder injury too and that could hamper his chances of making it to his first World Cup.
Nick Pope (Burnley)
Heaton's back-up has filled his shoes excellently this campaign, helping Burnley secure a comfortable position behind the Premier League's top six. However, his lack of international experience is a big disadvantage for Southgate and could be the deciding factor in Pope missing out on selection.
