Atletico Madrid and Maxi Gomez, the forwards from Valencia, seem to be linked every transfer window. As expected, the team from Madrid will try to sign the Uruguayan forward this summer.
According to 'SuperDeporte', Atletico have once again asked Valencia about the possibility of bringing the striker to the Spanish capital. This source also claim that the team managed by Gennaro Gattuso would be willing to let the player go for around 12 million euros, since the club are going through financial difficulties and Gomez is not a key player for the team.
The Uruguayan international is very excited at the prospect of joining Atleti and leaving Valencia, who he had a very poor last season with. He managed five goals and one assist in 32 games played in the league and the Copa del Rey.
Diego Simeone, Atletico's manager, believes that he will be able to help Maxi Gomez re-find his form, given that he especially rates some of the players qualities such as his experience, character and finishing ability.
