PSG's victory over Manchester United on Tuesday marked Buffon's 50th Champions League match - from the group phases up until the final - without conceding a goal.
Yet another record for the legendary goalkeeper, who, along with Iker Casillas, makes the list for the best goalkeepers in the Champions League.
Goalkeepers with the most matches in the Champions League
At the top of the list, if we include qualifying matches, is Iker Casillas (17), whose numbers have increased since he joined Porto. He is followed by the Italian, Buffon, with 130. They have conceded 200 and 123 goals, respectively.
In addition, many other legends aren't far behind them, such as Cech (111), Valdés (110), Shovkovskiy (109), Oliver Kahn (107), Van der Sar (100), Manuel Neuer (100), Pepe Reina (81) y Dida (76).
International goalkeepers with the most UCL matches
For this list, Buffon is on top for Italty with 176, leading Casillas by nine. The jump down to third place, where we find Thomas Ravelli for Sweden on 143, is significantly bigger.
Goalkeepers with the most Champions League titles
The current goalkeepers who have lifted the trophy the most number of times, have done so three times each - Keylor Navas (2016, 2017 and 2018), Iker Casillas (2000, 2002 and 2014) y Víctor Valdés (2006, 2009 and 2011). The first two won with Madrid and the latter won with Barca.
Youngest goalkeeper to win the Champions League
The European title won by Real Madrid in 2000 was historic for Los Blancos and for Iker Casillas. He became the youngest goalkeeper to lift the Champions trophy, and did it at just 19 years and 4 days old.
Oldest goalkeeper to win the Champions League
Van der Sar could not put down his gloves for good without winning his second Champions League title. In 2008, United beat Chelsea on penalties and the Dutchman became the oldest keeper to win the trophy, aged 37 years and 205 days.
Goalkeeper with the most consecutive matches without conceding in the Champions League
This stat is held by Jens Lehmann. The German goalie went one year and two months without conceding a goal in the Champions League, between March 2005 and May 2006, when was in the Arsenal ranks.
