Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for a club. Man Utd announced on Tuesday that his contract had been terminated after his explosive comments in an interview. He said, amongst other things, that he felt betrayed by the club and that he did not respect Erik ten Hag.
With the number 7 now out of Old Trafford, there was speculation over the Portuguese's next destination. Some would be delighted to see him back at Real Madrid, but that is not going to be possible.
'AS' says that Madrid have not considered and will not bring Cristiano Ronaldo back. "It wouldn't make sense with our sporting project," club sources told 'AS'.
Despite the fact Cristiano could go to Madrid on a free, it is not an option on the table. The club are clear that they already have the best striker possible: Karim Benzema.
Recent injuries which Benzema has suffered has led to some thinking that the team need a reliable substitute. Real Madrid, however, stress that the number 9's recovery is going well and they are confident that he will keep on playing fantastically as he was during until he got injured.
Madrid are more than satisfied with the Ballon d'Or winner. The pair played together a few years ago at Real Madrid, but then, Benzema was in Cristiano's shadow. He will not have a second spell with their roles reversed. Madrid have completely ruled out going for the attacker, who will have to choose between many other clubs who will fight to get him.
