PSG still in the race for Asensio despite Villa interest

Marco Asensio's future does not lie at Real Madrid. The striker will leave the Spanish side when his contract expires at the end of June due to the few opportunities Carlo Ancelotti has given him.

In fact, the newspaper 'Marca' reported that the 27-year-old will announce his departure on Wednesday. The Spain international has not yet made a decision on his new destination as other clubs are also interested.

Paris Saint-Germain were keeping an eye on him due to the possible departure of Lionel Messi but Aston Villa overtook them in the race. Moreover, the striker is more interested in Unai Emery and the Premier League.

Nonetheless, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', the French side still want to sign him and they have presented him with a new offer with the conditions he would have in Paris.

The good relationship between Marco Asensio's agent Jorge Mendes and PSG sporting director Luis Campos could make his arrival at the Parc des Princes easier.

Furthermore, the Spaniard could play in the Champions League and be reunited with former teammates such as Sergio Ramos, Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi.
