On Monday, 'Jijantes' reported that Leo Messi's intention was no longer to renew with PSG. In fact, it was the opposite. The Argentinian, after winning the World Cup, would have changed his mind and would now be happy to end his time in Paris on 30th June.
However, the club do not seem to have been overly concerned by these reports. According to what 'Mundo Deportivo' later published, and according to sources close to president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, there is no doubt about the future of the '30'.
It appears that PSG are sticking to their plan and are expected to hold the long-established meeting shortly to continue to work towards a definitive agreement, which would tie Messi to the club for one or two more years.
From the club, they do not believe the rumours to be true and are sticking to what they spoke to the Argentinian a few weeks ago. 'Mundo Deportivo' reproduces a message of reassurance from the French club: "I don't think anything has changed. Leo wants to continue for another year".
The news of Messi's change of opinion broke with what was known to date. It seemed that PSG, through a huge contract, had convinced the player to stay at the Parc des Princes. In fact, the "yes" was a certainty and all that remained to be decided was the length of the contract, which ranged from one season, two or the average solution, the famous 1+1.
