Borussia Dortmund were already missing Erling Haaland's goals. The striker had been injured for the last few weeks and, against Mainz 05, was back in action almost a month later.
The Norwegian was not going to let his fans go any longer without celebrating one of his goals. In the second half, he scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 and put his team on the road to victory.
Reus had given Borussia the lead in the opening minutes and Haaland came on after the restart to extend the lead. In the 54th minute, he converted a penalty awarded to him with a hard drive down the middle. In stoppage time, the Yellows' star player completed his brace by finishing off a counter-attack after an assist from Bellingham.
It was the 13th goal for the Norwegian, who is already the Bundesliga's top scorer in nine Bundesliga games this term. He had not played since 19th September against Union Berlin, scoring a brace after scoring three goals in the previous two games. In the German Bundesliga, he has scored in all six matches.
