OFFICIAL: Valencia sign Edinson Cavani

After just over two weeks of negotiations, Cavani, who was without a club after finishing his contract with Manchester United, has reached an agreement with Valencia for the next two seasons.

The Uruguayan has been rumoured for several teams in Europe, including Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Barcelona in Spain. However, the unknown ends with his signing by the Valencian team to put the icing on the cake for Gattuso's attack.

"I wanted to be here and play in Spain and Valencia have backed me. It's something I've said before, you have to go where you are loved, where they show you affection because in reality you make a living from that, from the strength of the people, from the affection of the club, we come with a lot of desire and enthusiasm," said Cavani on Monday on his arrival in the city to sign the contract.

According to 'SuperDeporte', Cavani will have a salary of over two million euros net. It was the summer request of Gattuso, who has insisted on the need for his arrival to reinforce the striker position in the face of the possible sale of Maxi Gomez to Fenerbahçe.
