Murillo signs long-term contract with Nottingham Forest

Murillo has signed a new long-term contract with Nottingham Forest, the club confirmed on Tuesday. The Brazilian defender has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal, increasing his stay in England until 2029.

22-year-old Murillo has rapidly become an important asset in the Forest backline since joining the Premier League side from Corinthians in August 2023 for a free worth £11 million. He has 57 appearances for the Tricky Trees, with one goal and two assists.

Speaking on the renewal, the player said: "I’m very thankful and very happy that there are four more years to come. I’m thankful to everyone for the support – not just to me, but to my family as well. 

"Everywhere I go, every shop, wherever it is, they treat my family and I really well. So, I’m very grateful for everything they do for myself and for the team. I’m sure that we’ve got a big future in front of us," he concluded.
