Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuna who both got a yellow card in the quarter-final game against The Netherlands, will be suspended for the semi-final against Croatia, just as FIFA's World Cup rules state.
The two wing-backs, who both play for Sevilla, were the only two Argentinian players who were already on a yellow card before the game at the Lusail Stadium against The Netherlands. Both saw another yellow card in the game against the Dutch side which therefore means that they will be suspended for the game against Croatia.
Overall, seven Argentinian players saw yellow in Friday's game: Lisandro Martínez, Leandro Paredes, Leo Messi, Nicolás Otamendi, Gonzalo Montiel, Germán Pezzella and manager Lionel Scaloni. Only Montiel and Acuna had a previous yellow card, meaning they will miss the next game.
As for the rest, they are wiped off, and they will be yellow-card free for the clash against Croatia. Therefore, Scaloni will have to change his wingers and opt for Nahuel Monlina, who started against The Netherlands, and Nicolas Tagliafico.
