Matheus Nunes ARRESTED in Madrid after stealing a mobile phone

Matheus Nunes is making headlines. 'El Mundo', after consulting with the Madrid Police Headquarters, revealed that the Manchester City player was arrested on 8th September in the Spanish capital for allegedly stealing a man's mobile phone.

It all happened at 5.30am. Mathes Nunes was at a party and went with some friends to the La Riviera nightclub. According to the police report, the footballer snatched the mobile phone from a 58-year-old man in the bathroom. 

There are two versions of what happened. Witnesses said that the man to whom the mobile phone belonged tried to take a photo of him in the bathroom, which caused Matheus Nunes to get angry and take the phone away from him. 

Others indicated, as quoted in ‘El Mundo’, that "the alleged victim touched the player in the bathroom while he was carrying a mobile phone. Nunes turned and took the mobile phone from him, thinking that he had taken a photograph".

In any case, it was the 58-year-old man who called the police. On arrival, the officers found that Nunes had a phone that was not his and proceeded to take him to Arganzuela after having taken a statement from the victim.

The aforementioned media reports that Nunes, when he was shackled, was defiant towards the authorities. Finally, he ended up in custody, where he spent a few hours. The footballer handed the matter over to his lawyer and, that same day, he was released with charges, pending trial.
