Victor Osimhen has finally reached an agreement with Napoli to sign a new contract until 2026, making the Nigerian striker one of the highest paid players in the Italian club's history, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
However, although the former Lille man is set to extend his stay at the reigning Serie A champions for another year - his contract is due to expire in 2025 - it does not mean a possible exit is out of the question.
Osimhen's new contract will include a release clause of around 130 million euros, which will be valid as early as 2024, according to 'Sky Sports'. Both Chelsea and Manchester United, who are interested in signing the CAF's Player of the Year winner to bolster their attack, would be able to afford the fee next year.
The Nigeria international has made 15 official appearances so far this season for Napoli, 12 of them starts, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
