FC Barcelona's new star turns 34. Robert Lewandowski is in the squad to travel with the club to San Sebastian in search of his first official victory and his first goal as a Barcelona player.
Unable to spend his day with his family, the Polish striker left a message on his social media for his birthday: "Today is not only match day, it's also my birthday. Remember to never stop dreaming, work hard and never give up," he said.
Lewandowski has, supposedly, secured his starting place against Real Sociedad in the second La Liga fixture. The Pole also took the time to thank the fans for the greetings he started to receive and for those that will come in the course of the day. "Dreams come true. Thank you for all your wishes. I can't be with my family, but I will spend this day doing what I love, playing football," said the former Bayern Munich player.
Since his arrival at Barcelona, the Polish striker has played almost all the matches of the tour of the USA and was only able to score his first goal in the Joan Gamper trophy against Pumas UNAM.
