N'Golo Kanté further endeared himself to public and peers alike on Saturday evening when he opted to eat dinner and play videogames at the house of a group of fans after he missed his Eurostar train to Paris.
Kanté played the whole 90 minutes for Chelsea in their 4-1 win at home to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon, but after having missed his train to Paris, and stopping at the nearest Mosque to kill some time, Kanté recieved an invite from a group of fans to join them for dinner. A World Cup winner in the summer, the humble Kanté spent the majority of the evening with the group, eating curry, playing videogames and even watching his own performance from that afternoon on a television highlights show.
One of the fans, Twitter user Jahrul, posted this message alongside a picture of himself and Kanté after the encounter: "World Cup winner, former Premier League player of the year, two-time Premiership winner casually joined us to watch MOTD after visiting a local mosque.True definition of being humble. What a man."
By midnight, Kanté had given up on catching a train to Paris and instead took a taxi home.
Kanté and his Chelsea teamates will be back in action this thursday in their first Europa League fixture of the season when they face PAOL Salonika in Greece.
