While everything pointed to Messi starring in the summer soap opera at the Camp Nou, the relative speed with which it was resolved deprived him of that reputation. But his teammate and friend Luis Suárez does point to being the protagonist of the summer.
The case of the Uruguayan has touched on all possible extremes. He was linked with Juventus so much that there was even talk about a done deal. After, and all of a sudden, his continuity started to become more popular to then be linked with Atlético Madrid and be close to Turin again.
Now, Fabio Paratici, Juventus sporting director, is distancing Suárez again. According to reports in Italy, Paratici admitted to various journalists that he is an almost unfeasible option for the Italian outfit.
For Paratici, his signing would be "an impossible option", although many assure that it is an attempt to boost their favourites. And within the Old Lady board, there exists different interests to strengthen the attack.
Nedved, vice-president, would opt for Suárez, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', while Cherubini, another board member, is thinking about Giroud. For his part, Paratici has reportedly proposed Dzeko and Milik up top.
For now, the Uruguayan is still waiting to know his future. Barca again made clear their stance with Koeman not calling him up for the first friendly of the season, but the number 9 isn't ruling out making an effort stay at the Camp Nou.
