Investigation into racist insults against Vinicius outside Mestalla asked to be closed

The Public Prosecutor's Office has asked Valencia's Court of Instruction number 10 to close the investigation into the racist insults that Real Madrid footballer Vinicius received on his arrival at the Mestalla stadium on 21st May.

As sources from the Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed to 'EFE', the prosecutor has taken this decision due to the impossibility of identifying the offenders, which were recorded in several videos that were published on social networks and subsequently incorporated into the case.

This investigation was opened separately from the case of racist insults against Madrid's No.7 and Militao inside the stadium and during the course of the match, in which 3 young people between 18 and 21 years of age are accused and have been banned for life by Valencia.

Months later, in July, La Liga provided the judge with a written statement detailing the insults to which the Brazilian defender Militao was subjected, and requested that legal action be offered to him as a victim, as well as to his teammate Vinicius.

As a private prosecution, it was La Liga that presented the investigating judge with several videos of Real Madrid's arrival at Mestalla in which several youngsters could be heard shouting the onomatopoeia "uh, uh, uh" or chants of "you're a monkey" and "Vinicius you're a monkey".
