Panenka, who acquired even more fame by promoting a peculiar way of executing the penalties, flattered Sergio Ramos, one of the players who is known for trying to imitate his way of shooting.
"I was very surprised that he used my way of taking penalties because he is a defender and I didn't expect him to use it. So the admiration for him and his qualities is even greater," admitted Panenka, who thinks Real Madrid's captain is a clear leader.
"If I was a coach, I'd always want a player like him on my team. He's one of the best defenders, if not the best defender in the world," the former Czech footballer told AS.
Speaking of the Sevillian, he did not want to get involved in the eternal debate surrounding Barcelona and Madrid, instead deciding to take a moral neutral role: "I am a great fan of both. They are two giant clubs with very long trajectory. For me, what makes them better is that, even if they lose, you always have aspects of the game of the two teams with which to stay and have fun."
