'I'm cautiously optimistic on Kimmich new deal' - Bayern chief Hainer closes door on Barca

Bayern Munich recently secured the long-term future of key player Alphonso Davies, who could have left the club at the end of the season as a free agent.
However, it was not just the Canadian winger who was the only key player who could leave without leaving the club at the end of the season. Joshua Kimmich's contract expires in June 2025 and rumours that Barcelona are interested in him have been reported several times.
However, it seems the Bundesliga leaders have stepped up to the plate and will also manage to extend the German midfielder's contract, club president Herbert Hainber has said.
"I'm cautiously optimistic on Kimmich signing new deal with us," he told 'BR24'. "In the end, he has to decide, but I think he knows what everyone has in FC Bayern. We are showing our ambition and project".
