A new journey begins for Julen Lopetegui. The Basque coach was presented as Wolves coach and gave his first words to the media.
"It was a pity at the end of the game because I think we deserved more and we need more at this moment. Before the game, of course, it was a great moment for me. When you can see the faces, for example, of an old man with the passion of a child, for me this is football. We are here to enjoy it, but we are here to change our run and help these fans to enjoy the team," he began.
The former Sevilla man also revealed when he was able to join the English side: "This is a great club, a great project, this is a great stadium. I have a bit of a special history with the team because six or seven years ago I had the chance to come here. At the last moment, I changed my choice because the Spanish national team called me.
"A month ago I had a personal problem with my father, but I think they knew to wait for the right moment. They wanted me me," he said.
However, Lopetegui felt the job will be far from easy: "It's not going to be an easy task, but football and life is about knowing how to overcome difficulties and hard times. My main task is to convince them that they are capable of doing it. The solution is not the coach, nor the manager, the solution is themselves and in the dressing room".
