After a whole summer of looking to move to another club, the last few days of the market were frantic for Victor Osimhen. When it seemed that the option of a move to a Saudi League team was gaining momentum, the Nigerian forced a last-gasp move to Chelsea. In the midst of the tug-of-war, negotiations broke down and the Napoli player was unable to complete the switch of clubs in time to the displeasure of all parties.
Finally, as the market in Turkey had not yet closed, the club found an escape route for the player in Galatasaray, where Osimhen intends to stay only on loan. On loan at the Ottoman club for a season, he has spoken to the club's official channels and has made it clear that in his opinion his price has not dropped because he is in a lesser competition.
"I am worth more than 100 million euros, there are few players like me in the world who have my style and have achieved my success," the Nigerian striker surprisingly explained to the communication department of the Ottoman club. "The price is related to my characteristics, what I do on the pitch and my quality. I think I deserve it, I am aware of what I do and what I can do," continued the former Napoli man.
"Some say I'm worth 15 million and others say 100, 120 or 150 million. In football, everyone has their own opinion," said the striker, who has already played in four games for the team, scoring two goals and providing three assists. With him on the pitch, Galatasaray have yet to lose, beating Rizespor 5-0, Fenerbahçe 1-3 and PAOK 3-1. In the match in which Osimhen made his scoring debut with a brace, Galatasaray and Kasimpasa played out a 3-3 draw.
