Gakpo strucks first as Liverpool stuns Man Utd

Liverpool are determined to end Manchester United's winning streak. The Reds went in at half-time a goal ahead of the Mancunians thanks to a goal from January signing Cody Gakpo in the 43rd minute.

Half of the credit for the goal undoubtedly went to Robertson. The full-back received on the left flank and waited for Cody Gakpo to be unmarked before feeding him inside the box. The Dutchman controlled the ball and beat Alisson with a low shot to the far post.

This would move Liverpool to within three points of fourth-placed Tottenham with a game in hand. There is no doubt that a win against in-form Manchester United would be a morale booster for the Anfield outfit.

Instead, Manchester United still had hopes for their Premier League title bid, which would be badly affected if they dropped points at Anfield today.
