Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa has become one of the finds of European football and the best penalty saver in the Champions League.
On Wednesday, the Portugal international saved his third penalty in five matches in the group stage and all of them consecutively. Nobody had ever done that before.
Costa's first penalty save was at the Estadio do Dragao after saving Patrik Schick's penalty in the win over Bayer Leverkusen. A week later, in the game in Germany, he saved another spot-kick, this time from Demirbay. Porto once again won that contest.
The hat-trick was completed in Belgium after stopping Lanz's penalty. The Porto shot stopper achieve something no one had ever done before.
To make things even better, Diogo Costa ended up saving four in a row as Lanz's spot kick was retaken after a Porto player went into the penalty area too early and he was the one to clear the ball away.
Without doubt, the Porto goalkeeper is the penalty saver of the Champions League.
