De Gea could play in Serie A next season

David de Gea left Manchester United after 12 seasons in the summer of 2023. Since then, the Spanish goalkeeper has been without a club after turning down the likes of Nottingham Forest. He was also linked with a return to the Red Devils and Real Madrid following Courtois' serious injury, but remains unemployed for the time being.

The Atletico Madrid academy player has been linked with a new suitor. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Genoa are considering a move for the Spaniard to replace Josep Martinez.

The Italian side sold their goalkeeper to Inter Milan for 13.5 million euros in the current transfer window. De Gea posted a message a few days ago on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which he hinted that there was little time left to see him in action again. The Spain international already has a first possible destination in Serie A.
