Cristiano Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, was admitted to the Nelio Mendonca Hospital in Funchal (Portugal) after suffering a stroke overnight.
Therefore, the Portuguese striker for Juventus did not hesitate in returning home to be able to visit his mother, who is still being treated from the stroke he suffered.
Apparently, according to 'Sport', the Portuguese international striker missed training to return home and be at his mother's side.
That said, his plan is to return to Turin on Wednesday to be able to play in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg game versus AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium.
The ex-Real Madrid player's return to Italy will depend on how Dolores Aveiro is. The 65 year-old has already suffered breast cancer on two occasions.
At the moment, the Nelio Mendonca hospital, where Dolores is, have not made any information public and they have no intention of doing so until last thing on Tuesday night. Portuguese media says that she is stable and conscious.
Cristiano Ronaldo was born in Funchal, Madeira, where he trained as a footballer before signing for Sporting Lisbon. His mother still lives on the Portuguese island.
