  • PRVW
So it is confirmed. Martin Odegaard makes his return in the starting lineup after 2 months on the sidelined due to injury. Declan Rice and Havertaz also return despite initial fitness concerns. Palmer is back for the Blues, as it looks like the forward has shaken off the knock.

Here's how Chelsea could line up (4-2-3-1): Sanchez (GK); Gusto, Fofana, Colwill, James; Caicedo, Lavia; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Jackson.
  • PRVW
With all that settled, lets have a look at the possible lineups!!!!
  • PRVW
Kieran Tierney, Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all 100% out due to injuries. Raheem Sterling will also be forced to sit out the clash as he is on loan from Chelsea and therefore unable to play against them.
  • PRVW
“We will have to wait to see how they react,” said Arteta. “Kai had a nasty cut and he could not continue so we had to take him off. With Mikel he wasn’t feeling great since the day before so we decided to sub him at half time.”
  • PRVW
Kai Havertz and Mikel Merino are also doubts. The former Chelsea man suffered a blow to the head against Inter and needed stitches, whilst Merino was taken off at half-time, with Arteta later explaining that he had not been feeling well in the build-up to the game.
  • PRVW
Fitness concerns are also a major talking point for Arsenal. Declan Rice is in a race against time to recover from a broken toe suffered in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Newcastle. Martin Odegaard is also pushing to start against Chelsea after making his comeback off the bench against Inter Milan.
  • PRVW
The hosts could see themselves without their main-man Cole Palmer, as his availability remains uncertain. The Englishman, who currently leads the Premier League with 12 G/A, picked up a knock in the match against Man United. Jadon Sancho also remains a doubt for the Blues, with the winger still nursing an injury which has kept away from the pitch for Chelsea's last five games.
  • PRVW
Lets have a look at the teams' fitness concerns before we go ahead with the possible lineups....
  • PRVW
Maresca also took the opportunity to praise his opponents. "For me they are the closest one with (Manchester) City," he admitted. "Both, I consider them better than the rest."
  • PRVW
Maresca is also feeling his side's chances as he insisted Chelsea "can compete and can win against any team" as he spoke ahead of the game. "For sure we have the right feeling that we're going in the right direction and hopefully Sunday we can give our fans a good day," the Italian added.
  • PRVW
Nevertheless Arteta is confident Arsenal are ready to rebound after their troubled spell. "They are paying attention, they are hungry, they want to work. Their desire is unbelievable. They are a joy to work with," said the Spaniard during his pre-Chelsea press conference on Saturday.
  • PRVW
The two teams recent form could not be more different ahead of the crunch. Arsenal suffered a frustrating 1-0 defeat against Inter Milan midweek in the Champions League, meamwhile Chelsea ran riot in the Conference League as they put eight past Noah FC.
  • PRVW
The two sides head into the game level on points (18) in the Premier League, though Maresca's men sit ahead in 5th thanks to a better goal difference. Who will come out on top after the match?
  • PRVW
Last time out, Arsenal thrashed Chelsea in a 5-0 goal fest. But will history repeat itself for this afternoon's clash as well?
  • PRVW
Chelsea are winless against Arsenal in over three years - since August 2021 - but their record at home is even worse. The Blues have not been able to beat their London rivals in over six years
  • PRVW
Big Super Sunday clash as Enzo Maresca and Mikel Arteta face for the first time ever, as the Italian will look to end the Blues dire record against the Gunners in recent seasons.
