The racist controversy between Mouctar Diakhaby and Juan Cala continues to be a talking point. The Valencia player gave an interview in 'SoFoot', a French magazine, in which he reviewed various aspects of his career, among which he spoke about what happened in Cadiz.
"He plays very little in Cadiz, but when they came to us in the Copa del Rey, he was a starter and I saw him. He was afraid of my look, he was ashamed, it was obvious he was ashamed. Why? Because he knows perfectly well what he has done," Diakhaby explained.
In that interview with the French magazine 'SoFoot', Diakhaby acknowledged that, "apart from the racism suffered", what hurt him most was that it "put a stop to the good season he was having" at Valencia.
"So, for a moment, I wasn't seen as the footballer, but as the victim of this story," said the French player, who concluded: "You feel the eyes on you, it's not very nice.
To conclude, he spoke about his future and the possibility of leaving Mestalla: "I'm at a good club, but I want to discover new championships like the Premier League or the Bundesliga. I will soon take stock with Valencia to see what we can do for the future. Maybe it's time to look elsewhere, because I've been here for four years now, but we'll see".
