Schalke and Hertha Berlin were relegated to 2. Bundesliga for the 2023/24 season and made way for Heidenheim and Darmstadt in the Bundesliga.
Up to seven German teams will play in European competitions in the 2023/24 campaign. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Union Berlin will play in the Champions League next season as they reached the top four in the table.
Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen have qualified to play in the Europa League while Eintracht Frankfurt will fight to lift Conference League trophy.
