Goalkeeper: Vicente Guaita (Getafe)
The Getafe stopper played a crucial role as his side managed to end Valencia's impressive unbeaten run, despite being down to 10 men for over an hour. He made numerous impressive saves against his former side.
Defence: Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid)
He was asked to fill in at right-back and helped to keep out an always dangerous Real Sociedad. The versatile central midfielder can adapt well to any position and is starting to become a key player for Diego Simeone.
Defence: Jordi Alba (Barcelona)
Alba is in great form. He didn't score, but provided the assist for Luis Suarez to put Barcelona 2-1 up against Celta Vigo. The Spanish left-back has a great understanding Messi and he is the defender with most assists in La Liga. Another impressive performance from him.
Defence: Unai Nunez (Athletic Bilbao)
He was tasked with keeping out Ronaldo and Benzema, who are both trying their hardset to end their poor runs in front of goal. He suffered, but put in a great performance and managed to leave with a clean sheet. Job done at the San Mames stadium.
Defence: Djene Dakonam (Getafe)
He could be one of the revelations of the season. Despite not playing alongside his usual partner at the back and with a man down, the Togolese defender stood strong against Zaza, Rodrigo and Santi Mina. Definitely deserves his contract extension.
Midfield: Ruben Perez (Leganes)
He is the driving force behind this surprising Leganes side. He runs, wins the ball, distributes, a powerful midfielder who has made his mark on the side from Madrid. Against Villareal, the 28-year-old had another great game.
Midfield: Jonathan Viera (Las Palmas)
He is the star man for Las Palmas. On his day, there are fewer more dangerous players than Viera. Against Betis he put in a superb performance. He gave Las Palmas some respite and broke forward at will.
Midfield: Nolito (Sevilla)
Nolito put in his best performance of the season so far at Deportivo. He was back to his best, past flying down the right wing throughout the game for Sevilla.
Midfield: Ibai Gomez (Alaves)
His hat-trick turned the game on its head for an Alaves side who were fearing the worst after going down 2-0. The winger exploded into life in the final stages against Girona.
Forward: Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)
His good run continues after ending his goalscoring drought. He scored the winning goal against Real Sociedad to close the gap between Atletico and Barcelona.
Forward: Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo)
Another good performance from Aspas against Barcelona. He still wants a place in Spain's World Cup squad and the Galician player scored Celta's first then assisted their second goal. He is Celta's main man at the moment.
