Berenguer's Olympic goal spices up La Liga relegation scrap

Alex Berenguer scored the most beautiful, deserved goal of the day and possibly of the La Liga season. He did it in the 23rd minute of Athletic's visit to a Celta side who were playing to stay clear of relegation and did not start the game in the best way to do so.

From a corner from the left, Berenguer was on hand to set the ball in motion. The No.7 placed the ball a little further up the line but with clear intentions of gaining some space to try what he ended up achieving.

The Athletic forward looked for the far corner with a perfect strike with his right foot. The ball flew over everyone in the box, including Ivan Villar who stretched backwards, knowing it would be almost impossible to stop his masterpiece.

The ball landed like a missile in the left corner of the Celta Vigo goalkeeper. There have been many more avoidable Olympic goals than this one from a Berenguer who did not even celebrate what others would have celebrated in style.
