In the middle of the international break, the German newspaper 'Abendzeitung' published an interview with Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. Dreesen spoke at length with the newspaper, in which he discussed the situation of Kimmich and Musiala and an alleged interest in Bayer Leverkusen's Wirtz.
Regarding the German full-back, whose contract expires on June 30th, 2025, the director assured that the club's intention is to offer him a renewal: "We have already said publicly that we want to start talks with Kimmich about a contract extension as soon as possible. I would like him to remain one of the cornerstones of the team.”
In the same vein was with Musiala, although the playmaker still has 2 years remaining. “Of course we want to extend the contract of one of the best players in the world. I hope that the first talks will be really good and lead to a renewal. We want him to be one of the faces of the club.”
Finally, the Bayern CEO referred to Florian Wirtz, who has been linked with Bayern and other top teams in European soccer. Dreesen gave no guarantee of being able to sign the Bayer Leverkusen player. “Bayern must always be interested in having the best German players. But Uli Hoeneß has always said that Bayern must act sensibly financially, this is key,” he concluded.
