Barcelona seriously consider signing Asensio

Marco Asensio could end up at Barcelona. When this was mentioned initially, the player himself did not rule it out and that led to anger amongst Real Madrid fans. Now that it seems like he is closer to renewing, 'Mundo Deportivo' says that getting him to move to the Camp Nou is an option for debate in the Catalan capital. 

Barca have very much in mind that he would join Xavi Hernandez's team as a free agent. This aspect is fundamental. Joan Laporta and his men are dealing with a very difficult financial situation and the ideal thing would be to bolster the squad, without affecting the club's finances too negatively. 

In addition, the 26 year-old plays for Spain, is great at striking the ball and does not seem have problems being a nailed on starter. His Espanyol and Real Madrid past would rttaise some eyebrows, but they are still considering him. Barca are looking at several factors, but he is not considered a priority for them. 

It is also worth bearing in mind that, despite the rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid, there has always been a good relationship between Joan Laporta and Florentino Perez, the two presidents. It would be a huge story if Laporta decided to go out and buy a Madrid player given this relationship.
