Friday was a busy one in the Barcelona offices. 'Marca' and 'Jijantes' explained that Joan Laporta, Deco and Rafa Yuste, the president and the sports management of the club, have met at the club's training complex at the same time as the first team, with Xavi at the helm, was training.
This could be the last step before announcing the dismissal of Xavi Hernandez. Once the training session is over, a meeting is scheduled between the club's top management and the coach to analyse the immediate future of the bench.
Laporta, who does not usually go to the 'Cules' training complex, arrived at around 12 noon on Friday, an hour after training began. Deco also arrived around the same time, followed by Rafa Yuste.
Barcelona have decided that Xavi will not be the coach next season. His words before the match against Almeria triggered Laporta's final decision, despite the fact that weeks before both had confirmed the coach's continuity.
Hansi Flick has been chosen to take over the Barcelona bench. The German coach has already had meetings with the club's board of directors and could be announced on Monday, once the season is officially over.
