Barca prodigy Lamine Yamal could already be making his debut for La Roja

Aged just 16, Lamine Yamal started for Xavi's Barcelona on the second day of La Liga, after coming on as a substitute in the first game against Getafe.

If Barca's new prodigy represents the future of the Catalan club, he could also become a future star of the Spanish national team.

But the Moroccan-born Spaniard may also choose to represent Morocco. A brilliant performer with Spain's U17s at the last UEFA European Championship, he could already be called up to the senior national team.

According to 'Mundo Deportivo', La Roja coach Luis de la Fuente is ready to call up Yamal for the Euro 2024 qualifiers during the international break in September.

But Walid Regragui's Morocco side are keeping an eye on the Masia-trained player and are not ruling out the possibility of calling him up in the coming weeks. The choice of Spain or Morocco will be up to the player.
