Atletico Madrid's friendly with Juventus in Israel will not take place.
Israeli media had already announced that the clash was in serious doubt to the existing tension on the Gaza Strip. The conflict has made Juventus and Atletico decide to cancel the trip to Tel Aviv to play the match.
On Friday night, the Israel press reported that more than 100 rockets had been launched against Israwl. Some alarms were raised in areas close to the stadium where the match was meant to take place. The situation was, therefore, a very difficult one.
'Radioestadio' were the first to announce that the friendly had been suspended. Juventus pointed to security reasons as their reason for refusing to travel to Israel.

After Juventus' decision, Atletico made theirs. The La Liga also ruled out travelling to Tel Aviv. Their flight was scheduled for 12:30 CEST.
Atletico trained normally this Saturday and were planning to fly afterwards. Finally, for security reasons, they decided to cancel it.
According to 'Carrusel Deportivo', the match could change venue. Juve and Atletico have reportedly agreed to play the fixture in Turin on Sunday. Neither of the two clubs has confirmed this yet.

After the media reported the friendly had been cancelled, Atletico Madrid confirmed it in a statement. "Due to the current situation, Comtec, the match promoter, Juventus and Atletico announce that the friendly between both teams that were going to take place this Sunday in the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv has been cancelled," he said.
A message which was published on social media at 12:24 CEST, six minutes before their scheduled flight to Israel.
