Atletico decide on next two contract renewals

Atletico Madrid are looking at more than just signing new players. They are also focussing on extending the contracts of their current footballers. They have already reached an agreement with important players, but there are still more to do. 

'Marca' have confirmed the news that 'Sky Italia' were reporting that goalkeeper Jan Oblak and Thomas Lemar are the players the club want to renew. 

In the case of the Slovenian, Atletico cannot imagine him not being in goal and they want to extend his contract beyond 2023. For Lemar, his great start to the season has earned him a new contract. His current deal also expires in 2023. 

The cited  media outlet says that talks have begun and that the players now know the club's intentions. 

There is still a lot to be negotiated and an agreement is far from being reached, but Atletico have taken the first step towards getting two important players to put pen to paper.
