After losing out on Marco Asensio, Aston Villa now have their sights set on Nico Williams. The club's coach Unai Emery wants a big signing this summer and the winger has caught his attention.
The Athletic Bilbao player is under contract until 2024, and the English side already asked after him in January, but Williams preferred to wait for the end of the season to make his decision.
According to 'Marca', Villa would be ready to drop €50 million to terminate his contract. The winger has a renewal offer on the table from Athletic, but seems more likely to pack his bags and move to the Premier League.
The offer from the English club is around €7 million a year, which is well above what the Spaniards could offer him. Bilbao have so far failed to renew Inigo Martinez, but have retained Oihan Sancet next season.
At 20 years old, Nico is a great young talent and even joined the National Team to play in the World Cup. Luis Enrique bet heavily on the younger Williams in Qatar, but he will not be present in the Nations League with Luis de la Fuente due to a sprained knee.
