Arteta draws parallels between Premier League and Champions League ahead of Monaco match

Mikel Arteta addressed the media at Sobha Realty Training Centre ahead of Arsenal's Champions League clash with Monaco, highlighting the valuable experience gained from Premier League competition. The Arsenal manager stressed that the high level of opposition faced weekly in domestic fixtures serves as excellent preparation for European encounters.

"We've faced incredible difficult opposition every week and that's the good thing," Arteta remarked, underlining the competitive nature of the Premier League. He dismissed the notion that the Champions League should be viewed as an entirely different proposition, instead emphasising the similarities in the required approach.

Arteta acknowledged Monaco as "a very good team" and praised their recent form, recognising the challenge ahead for his side. The Gunners' boss pointed out that the frequent fixtures in domestic competition have accustomed his team to facing high-calibre opponents regularly.

While Arteta noted some unique aspects of Champions League football, he maintained that the core principles of competition remain consistent across both tournaments. As Arsenal aim to secure a strong position in their Champions League group, Arteta's comments suggest a confident and well-prepared squad ready to apply their Premier League experience to the European stage.
