The January transfer window is set to open in just over two weeks time and Arsenal want to take advantage by bolstering their squad ahead of what could be an extraordinary end to the season. Mikel Arteta has already made his preferences clear.
Gabriel Jesus' injury has changed the Gunners' plans at this stage of the season. The Brazilian international suffered a knee problem at the World Cup and required surgery. He is expected to be out for at least three months.
According to 'The Athletic', Arsenal want to rush to sign Mykhailo Mudryk, one of Shakhtar Donetsk's most valuable players, and for him to join the team in January.
Mudryk also wants to play in the Premier League. He has reportedly said "yes" to Arsenal and he is very close to signing for the North London outfit. His price, however, is still to be determined and Shakhtar will not make it easy.
"If someone wants to buy Mudryk, they will have to pay an awful lot of money," Shakhtar director of football Dario Srna said a few weeks ago. The Ukrainian club want 100 million euros for his departure.
