Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo, who ruptured the hamstring tendon in his right thigh with Uruguay in the Copa America, continues to speed up his recovery and is close to returning to training with his teammates.
In a video shared by Barcelona on social media, Araujo can be seen on the pitch of the Joan Gamper training complex, fine-tuning his return to action.
The Uruguayan defender, who underwent surgery in Finland on 22 July, can now sprint and make changes of pace and has also started to touch the ball, which means he will soon start training alongside the rest of his teammates.
This is good news for manager Hansi Flick, who has had to make do with Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez at the back because of injuries to Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia.
