The Brazilian National Team's President Ednaldo Rodrigues spoke to 'beIN Sports', and confirmed that he wants to sign Carlo Ancelotti as the country's next coach once Real Madrid end this season.
"He doesn't have any offer, but we're still following him and we also checked whether he wanted to. He's our Plan A. I'm speaking very openly for the first time, and it doesn't make sense to hide it", the president said.
He then went on to maintain that for now, he's not looking to get in touch with the Italian: "I try to be ethical. I can't approach any manager who has a contract with a club. We've tried to be patient and wait for the right moment to have a conversation, a meeting".
"From the moment we recieve the sign that it's also what he wants, we'll start to speak about what may become a yes or a no. From there we'll make a Plan B", Rodrigues added.
The CBF President also explained why he won't be looking for a Brazilian coach: "We're not devaluing any coach from our country, it's quite the opposite, we've got managers of the same level. We've decided on Ancelotti for what he's achieved, and for being a worthy man for the job. We checked he was the right person".
"We're following his work not only as a manager but also as a representative of the Italian national side. Considering what the sportsmen who work or have worked with him say, he's completely open, educated, values and loves Brazilian footballers and Brazilian football. He's someone who aligns perfectly with our players", he concluded.
