On his return to the Brazilian national team, Malcom gave a press conference and recalled his short spell at FC Barcelona: "My time at FC Barcelona was very short, but I learnt a lot.... The opportunities I had, I took advantage of them. Barca were not unfair to me.

Malcom had a great year at Zenit in Russia and was again called up by the Brazil national team for the friendlies against Guinea and Senegal, to be played in Barcelona and Portugal, respectively.

The winger gave a press conference from the 'Selecao' training camp and expressed his feelings about returning to Barcelona after his departure from the Catalan giants.

"I am very happy to be able to come back here. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Being here with the Brazil national team is an honour. I want to take advantage of these days to learn a lot," began the 26-year-old striker, who finished top scorer in the Russian league.

Malcom was asked about his short spell as a Barca player, which lasted just one season, during which he won La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup, despite the fact that Ernesto Valverde hardly gave him any opportunities in the first team.

"My time at Barcelona was short-lived, but I learnt a lot. I wanted to leave the club to get more playing time and play in the Champions League. The opportunities I had, I took advantage of them. Barca were not unfair. They were the coach's decisions, and you have to respect them. Now I'm happy at Zenit", he reflected.

With Malcom as the star player, Zenit have been crowned champions of the Russian League. The Brazilian striker was the team's top scorer with 23 goals in 27 games and earned a call-up to the Brazilian national team for the June FIFA matchday.
